President's weekend

It looked like a crazy idea; putting an extra day on the Presiden's weekend, but now that I have spent the five days away from work, it looks like it was a good thing. This time off was preceeded by a week of insanity with students, teachers, parents and everyone going crazy.

What did we do with this time? The first day was giving a Valentine's dinner to Donna's Mother and her father-in-law. Mom is a good conversationalist and John is happy with food, candy and black coffee. Put him in a chair with a footstool and a cup of coffee and he'll be quiet and soon asleep. Mom likes to chat about everything. We worked very hard to make a good dinner, then got some sleep before we gave them a big breakfast and send them on their way.

On Saturday, we relaxed and went around looking at stores after Donna got a long call from Wyatt Cheng. He wanted to know from our perspective, what was happening with Heather.

Sunday was a bad day. We saw some model homes, went to Lambertville to get a sandwitch at our favorite deli then went to our favorite used furniture store. There we found three US Navy tea pots and a creamer; all matching. They came from an Officer's mess and were beautiful. We got them and promised ourselves that we would sell enough on eBay to pay for them. We then went to the Blue Racoon and picked up some paper whites bulbs to plant.

Monday was a day to relax.

Tuesday, Donna had to work and I had a dentist appointment. Afterwards, I did some errands and kept trying to contact Heather, who had stopped for a break from travelling alone to Van Couver, BC. Later, Heather called to tell she was OK.

I cleaned a floor, sanded the bottom of some sticking doors, washed a car and got calls from Donna all day long concerned about Heather. By the time Donna got home I was tired. I also had school work to do too. Donna still had lessons to do, so I made burritos with chicken mole', frijoles, spanish rice, guacamole, tortillas, chipoltle salsa, and a margarita to top it off!

I think I have relaxed enough to go back to work.
