Retired regimen

It's been a while since I wrote. Since the farewell party by the staff, I didn't want to talk about my official retirement; the one from my Interim Principal position at Branchburg. It proved to me that I could do the job and be successful.

I did not curry favor with the Superintendent because he was a sneaky guy that was in bed with the director of Special Services and the head of Maintenance and I couldn't get an angle on him or his operation.

But enought about my not working. What I wanted to say was that the days go by nicely with work in the morning, then straigntening up before Donna comes home, having wine and corn chips while we talk, her giving lessons and my making dinner. Damon comes home and eats and leaves to do other activities. A few phone calls or a TV show and its time for bed.

I sleep well, this celibate life I lead being married to a worrisom woman that must talk finances to go to sleep. She keeps the weight off by fretting over everything. Having to take control of all things burns calories. If God spoke, she would go the other direction and then blame Him for not giving her the answer she wanted.

Well, I think, plan, write down the things I want to accomplish and love the quiet. I like to work with the plans outside; seeing them overcome a hard winter. I groomed the lawn and seeded and fertilized it and already see the results in the quickly growing grass, which has crept out of the ground at about a quarter inch per day. It was good to mow, trim, sweep and water the lawn for the first time since last summer when I was looking for a job.

I enjoy being home. I enjoy getting dressed to go out on the town; to do errands, the bank, the grocery store, the laundry, and the liquor store. I like talking with Marshal Higgins, the third generation store owner of the little newsstand next to the bank on Main Street, across from the Hunterdon County Courthouse, where the Lindburg Kidnapping trial took place.

I also like going with Damon to train at Trexlertown. it is hard on me, but it is good exercise and I hope to drop a few pounds and firm up my stomach from the process. What is greater is the time I get to spend with my son.

I also like to hear from Heather. She has such a cheery voice and is eager to see what live has to offer with her new cutie, Hannah. I look forward to going out there. I'm going soon, an idea Donna had to get me out of the house, to get Mom Wyatt a chance to see her great grandchild, and an chance for Heather to be with us both.

Donna doesn't make friends well and has a hard time keeping them. She hates most people, including me, so it makes sence that she would come up with this idea, but it has proven to be a wonderful idea nontheless. I will fly out to Colorado Springs, drive to pick up Mom, fly her to Frisco then return the same way.

We will see what this trip has to offer. Afterwards, I have to get a job.
