The Play-off football game

This our first play-off game and possibly the last. We had a good series of games; winning all but two. Our team was rated in second place but we had to play our dreaded rival, Glen Rock. In the regular season we beat them quite badly; bad enough for them to raise a stink about our breaking their star football player's leg; in two places. Well, no one is perfect.

What hurt was when they accused us of doing it on purpose to keep their boy wonder from getting his much-deserved football scholarship. Why would we do that? Our kids can hardly spell SAT let alone complete one.

So the Glen Rock administrators were feeling the pressure to make Saddle Brook pay for their "sins" and had a meeting with us to resolve any possible conflicts should we meet in the play-offs. Well, we are, so the precautions are being carried out. They are as follows:
Erect extra bleachers on the vistitor's side and keep both groups separate,
Have separate concession stands, one on each side,
Have extra SB police and have Glen Rock police as well as county police on horseback,
Rope off areas not to be used,
Have a Port-a-John on the side where there are no bathroom facilities,
Have a separate 50/50 for each side to keep anyone from accusing the other side of cheating,
Inform the students to behave,
Have the FB teams stay on the field after the game until people leave,
Have officials for the game come from the southern part of the state, no knowing anyone on either teams,
and finally, have an official present from the state athletic association to monitor the game.

Oh, I forgot, there will be a thousand video cameras whirring away recording everyting that happens everywhere in the stadium.

Everyone can't believe we have to go through all this to make sure our kids are safe from some sore loosers. We could use that money to rent the bleachers to better use.
