The Monday after
Mondays are allways hard at a High School, especially at Saddle Brook. There are so many needy people waiting for help that they line up on Monday; on the phone, on the email and in the office. One welfare mom was with me and two counsellors for two hours arguing why her child should stay enrolled eventhough the child has only attended 6 days of school out of 109!
But when that futile meeting ended I went to the crusty old vice principal to see what was happenning on Friday when I took off a day. It seems that two board members snuck into the school and approached the athletic director. They threatened him with the loss of his position as AD if he didn't recommend their favorite candidate for head football coach; a parent in the community. Somehow they got around the fact that the person had to be certified.
I am so glad I hear these things because it makes me realize that God is saving me from this situation. The lions in the den can't attack me because I already quit! Now I know what I would have to face! The AD claimed before the board last week tha the was doing the job without my help; that he was a one-man show. Well, that was news to me. If he had a problem with me it would have been good to know about it before he said something in front of the board. But God has a way of taking vengeance. Dad always reminded me that it was not my job to take vengeance on people. Now I know why. I was able to preserve my attitude and my spirit while this guy is being destroyed by the sneaky BOE members.
