What is happenning?

I go to work every day praying that God would protect my students and teachers. I have meetings with parents that threaten and act out of line, but we resolve our problems with teachers. I have equipment problems, facility problems, clock, telephone, database, intercome, budget, stolent equipment, broken equipment problems, but I keep going. Some say I'm not doing enough. Veteran teachers that do nothing think that I am not the right person for the job. The tyrant they had before, they hated. Now they have a person that treats them with respect and they think I am powerless. I am tolerant of people because I taught; I know what it's like, but they have it good and they complain about it. They are paid well and complain. They will not do anything extra unless they are paid. They have a problem; I don't. God will take me where I need to be. They have their own Hell to deal with. Let them be.

A More Colorful World

Saddle Brook, not the River where the wealthy live, is a small community that once was made up entirely of Italian Americans and a few Poles. I recently had to do an analysis of the immegrants in my school alone. By deffinition that would be a person that was born in another country and living in the US less than three years. There were 48 at the time I counted, which grew to 50 two days later. These students came from over twenty different countries including India, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, Phillipines, Columbia, etc. Since no one is immegrating from Italy the percentages of both Italian and non Italian are changing. I don't know if the students, faculty and parents can get a grip on the changes taking place under foot.
