Tonight's the Night!
I tried to get some sleep but still had to get up in the middle of the night to read. In the morning I felt drugged eventhough I took nothing the night before to help things. I am controlling the number of drinks I take in the evening and that could have been it.
Well, I met with the super of Branchburg and agreed on a price per day. Although paid considerably more than a cafeteria worker, as an Interim Principal, I am only paid for the days I work. So appointments or sickness will have to wait.
I have been filling out forms, producing documents, and visiting the doctor to get everything needed for the new job. If I have to get a criminal history check every time I get another interim job, I'll be upset, but that's the rule right now.
Tonight I meet witht he board of ed. I hope they don't ask me some stupid question. They tend to embarrass themselves at times. I get a Mantoux test on Friday and should be able to show up for work on Monday. Lately, I have been assessing my suits, sport coats, shirts, slacks, and shoes to see what is needed. I threw out a lot of shirts that were too tight around the collar and had some flaw somewhere. Now I need to saddle soap and polish my shoe collection.
If I could just get the bags out from under my eyes I would be happy. The baldness I can control with shorter hair cuts, but the bags I have to hide with fake glasses and that is a nuisance. Well, I am so glad to have this job. From this other jobs will sprout, I know.
I confused my nosy neighbor Jill today by walking down Main Street to the bank. She couldn't help but mention, "when does your school start?".
Instead of revealing my present state of affairs, I replied, "Monday", which was true and had her pondering that until one of the little kids she was watching started to do something he shouldn't and she forgot all about me, for which I was grateful.
We shall see what this evening holds. Meanwhile, I am enjoying my vacation from school immensly

Life after getting a job
I'm writing in green because having some "green" will be the different state that we will be in. This means planning that involves money. I need to activate my Professional Associations, get a new car cover for the Miata, fix the glove box and the tape player so I can listen to books on tape and after my first check, I may get a bottle of single malt or Don Pablo anejo.
Donna is still mortified that I lost my job and is utterly embarrassed around her family. That's funny because her sister Karen's husband has a job that does not bring in any money at all and her large family of hungry kids subsists on her meager part time accountant job at a dentist's office in Atlanta!
Well, back to the job. I have a few days to get house projects done before I start. I need to get to them quickly too because hurricane Frances is coming up the coase and it already is grey out there. I guess I'll concentrate on the job when I have it.
