The First Summer Off
It has been a long time since I have had time during the summer. The only problem is that I have to find a job. But I am taking advantage of the time off.
The first project was to transplant shrubs and flowers to locations that would allow them to grow better. Then I took on replacing outside woodwork for the French doors leading out to the deck. I had to take the rotted wood away and replace it with plastic brick mold. After looking at one door, I had to replace both eventually. It took a few days to complete the task, then we had to paint the wood.
Next, I took on the door frame to the basement. The bottom of the frame was rotted and Damon had dislodged the bottom of the frame when he tried to get into the house. It took a lot of work to replace the wood with plastic this time because I had to rehang the door. I finally got it done, but the weather stripping was complicated. I hope to continue more projects around the house before I have to go to work. I like the income, but the hassle is too much. I can't wait to have my own time to do things. I want to read and exercise and throw stones with a sling and have a dog to fetch a frisbee. I want to get up at 5:00 and have a nap in the afternoon. I want to sip some good tequilla or Irish wiskey and do the crossword from the New York Times. I want to play Scott Joplin and J. S. Bach on the piano. I want to play the Digiree Doo and make etherial sounds. I want to have a business in the Intenet and go to auctions. There are so many things to do.

July
It appears that I am retired. I never wanted a retirement dinner, so my wish has been granted. The only problem is that the family thinks I can't hold down a job; that I am unstable and unreliable. That's interesting. It shocked me when I heard it at first, but then I realized who said it.
I wonder if that person knows that I came to New Jersey and have accomodated the needs of others all my life? It is no wonder that my career came second.
